Statement of Interest: Candidacy for Otuke County Member of Parliament (2026-2031)
I, Ojok Okello, am honored to declare my interest in joining active elective politics and contesting for Member of Parliament for Otuke County in the upcoming 2026 elections. My decision to run is deeply rooted in my unbridled commitment to transforming our rural communities and unlocking the vast potential of Otuke County for sustainable development.
Having dedicated my life to rural development through Okere City, I have witnessed firsthand the challenges our people face—limited access to quality education, healthcare, economic opportunities, and infrastructure. Yet, I have also seen our communities' immense resilience, resourcefulness, and potential. My journey as a development worker, social entrepreneur, and community builder has shown me that with bold, visionary leadership, we can create a future where no one is left behind.
My ten-point manifesto focuses on practical, people-centered solutions to revitalize Otuke County. From enhancing shea farming and agribusiness to improving road networks, education, healthcare, youth empowerment, and cultural promotion, I believe in transforming rural areas into hubs of opportunity and innovation. This vision is not just a dream—it is something I have actively worked on through the successful establishment of Okere City, proving that sustainable rural development is possible when communities are empowered.
I seek to take this impact to a larger scale by bringing effective representation, accountable leadership, and transformative policies to Parliament. My education and experience—spanning community development, governance, and international engagements—have equipped me with the knowledge, networks, and determination to advocate for the interests of Otuke County at the national level.
I am ready to work with and for the people of Otuke, ensuring that our voices are heard and our county is placed on the path to prosperity. Together, let us usher in a new era of progress, dignity, and sustainable development for our beloved county.
For Otuke. For the Future. For Us All.
