Conducting a Workshop on Advocacy for South Sudanese Civil Society Organizations
I am a rural futurist, development worker, and community builder. As the founder and CEO of Okere City, my mission is to implement a radical development plan to build the first sustainable rural city in Uganda. Okere City envisions a sustainable and thriving rural community empowered through art, education, and improved livelihoods. Before founding Okere City, I worked with international and national development organizations, and the government of Uganda as a public servant. I was a senior secretary at Makerere University, a governance expert with the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung, and a project coordinator at War Child UK, VEDCO, Centre for Social Research, RISE-UP Urban Refugees Project.
I am an Ashoka Visionary Fellow, a Rotary Vocational Service Recipient, a YALI RLC Fellow, and a PfAL Fellow at the London School of Economics, where I completed a Master of Science in Development Management degree. I am also a 2023/24 Fulbright Humphrey H. Hubert Fellow at Cornell University. In 2023, I was recognized by my alma mater Makerere University where I trained in community development as an outstanding alumnus.
